ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Caroline (l-i-n-e not lyn)
I was a lifelong resident of Lower Makefield Township until 2014, when I hopped the municipal line to the REAL Yardley. This place is the best slice of small-town USA I’ve ever known. I live here with my husband, two delightful kiddos and two elderly dogs who insist on locally-sourced bedtime treats and lots of canal walks. If you haven't picked this up from my website yet -- I'm completely unserious when I can be. Local politics doesn't need to be inaccessible and stuffy. We're just humans - your neighbors - trying to figure out how to make this town the best that it can be for YOU.
Now, the obligatory résumé rundown: I earned my BA in Government and Law from Lafayette College (go pards!) and an MBA in Management and Strategy from Western Governors University. I’m the Director of the Intellectual Property and Brand Protection Group at ETS in Princeton. Outside of work, I’m an unapologetic tree-hugger, a Sunday School teacher at Morrisville Presbyterian Church (hi, MPC fam!), and a certified audiobook junkie.
In 2018, I joined Borough Council, and you wonderful residents have re-elected me three times—thank you for that! I’ve been President of Council since 2022, Vice President before that and have also served as Chair of the General Government Committee from 2018 to 2022. (The committee sounds dry, but it’s basically the behind-the-scenes magic that keeps borough operations humming—budgeting, staffing, all the fun stuff.)
I’ve been deeply involved in Community Outreach, served as the Council Liaison to the Parks & Recreation Board, and tried my hand at just about every committee during my tenure. Some of my proudest accomplishments include:
-
Leading an educational webinar series on floodplain living, and assisting in improving our FEMA CRS rating (to increase our resident discount ($$) on flood insurance premiums.
-
Reforming the floodplain ordinance to better protect resident investment.
-
Giving our Main Street Christmas wreaths a much-needed glow-up.
-
Growing the borough savings accounts tenfold.
-
Securing millions in grant funding for borough projects—cha-ching!
-
Partnering with our borough manager to kickstart in-house grant writing.
-
Advocating for residents in disputes involving land development, zoning, engineering, and business issues—acting as a liaison between all parties to push for fair, workable resolutions.
-
And last but not least, making some truly amazing lifelong friends along the way (aww).
Serving on Borough Council has been both a privilege and a responsibility that I have valued greatly. As I look to the future, I am eager to continue building on this work and to lead Yardley with dedication, vision, and the broader perspective of a mayor.
